Parents Council
Like in many schools, St Stephens parents council is made up of a no. of parent volunteers who aim to represent the views of parents, and to provide a channel of communication between the school and all parents. We assist the school body by organising talks of interest for parents, we fundraise for necessary equipment for our children, and we have a certain amount of input into school policies concerning our children. We regularly host receptions in the school throughout the year for our communion families and also for grandparent days and graduation ceremonies. One of everyone's favourite events in our school year is the visit by Santa Claus to all junior classes in the school, and we provide the treats for this and many other events through the year. Every parent in our school is automatically a member of the parents council but may not want an active role on the council. We currently have 12 members on our council and 6 of those members hold executive positions and are responsible for the financial running of the council, as well as keeping official records of all correspondence between the council and parents and school management.
The following parents make up the council for the 2019/2020 school year.
Chairperson: Caroline Byrne
Vice Chairperson: Danielle Mcguigan
Treasurer: Aoibheann Roche
Vice Treasurer: Sandra Macedo
