Developing fine motor skills in Junior Infants
Ms Tuite’s Junior Infants have been busy practising the formation of the letter ‘s’ using playdough!
The children rolled, shaped and curved their playdough to create lots of super s shapes. This fun, hands-on activity helps to develop fine motor skills while reinforcing correct letter formation.
Fantastic work!
Junior Infants on Tour!
Our Junior Infant class had great fun exploring the school and discovering all the different places and friendly faces! A highlight was a special visit to the staff room – now they know where the teachers go for their cups of tea! What a fun way to get to know their new school!
Junior Infants have been very busy settling into school life!
Ms Tuite’s Junior Infants have been very busy settling into school life!
We are getting to know our new classroom, making new friends and learning lots of new routines. Everyone is doing a fantastic job and we are having lots of fun along the way! Here are some pictures of us enjoying our fine motor activities. These fun activities help to strengthen our little hands and fingers and develop the skills we need for writing, cutting, colouring and lots more. We are so proud of how well everyone is settling in and we’re looking forward to a wonderful year ahead!

Thematic learning in Senior Infants
We had a wonderful time exploring The Owl Who Was Afraid of the Dark as part of our thematic learning! Plop’s adventures sparked lots of lovely conversations about facing our fears, being brave and discovering that something we are unsure of can turn out to be very special. Our learning then took flight into science, where we became owl experts, discovering the different parts of an owl, their amazing features, what they eat, where they live and their fascinating nocturnal habits. To finish our unit, the children put their creativity to work and created their own beautiful owl art!
